A NOTICE

This weblog was originally created with the intention of showing, by simple quotation, the character of the views held by Bp. Richard Williamson SSPX. The weblog's creator has since become convinced that such an exercise is unlikely to further the cause of Catholic unity, and that it also risks encouraging unChristian sentiment in readers.

The views of Bp. Williamson are well known, and those seeking to read his more controversial statements will easily find them. For our part, we ask only that readers consider keeping the bishop in their prayers, and also saying the prayers for the unity of the Church which follow:

---------------------

A DEVOUT EXERCISE
FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH

Ant. That they all may be one, as Thou, Father, in me and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that Thou hast sent me.

V.
I say to thee, that thou art Peter,
R. And upon this rock I will build my Church.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus Christ, Who didst say to Thine Apostles: peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, look not upon my sins, but upon the faith of Thy Church; and vouchsafe unto her that peace and unity which is agreeable to Thy will: Who livest and reignest with God forever and ever. Amen.

Ant. Ut omnes unum sint, sicut Tu, Pater, in me et ego in te, ut et ipsi in nobis unum sint; ut credat mundus quia Tu me misisti.

V. Ego dico tibi, quia Tu es Petrus,
R. Et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam.

Oremus.

Amen.

---------------------

O God, who guidest that which is gone astray, and gatherest that which is scattered, and keepest that which is gathered together; we beseech Thee, mercifully pour forth upon the Christian people the grace of Thy unity; that they may reject the spirit of dissension and unite themselves to the true Shepherd of Thy Church, and may thus be enabled to serve Thee worthily. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Deus, qui errata corrigis, et dispersa congregas, et congregata conservas: quaesumus, super populum christianum tuae unionis gratiam clementer infunde; ut divisione reiecta, vero pastori Ecclesiae tuae se uniens, tibi digne valeat famulari. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.
